Resilient Cities
In keeping with Willoughby Council’s Visual Arts Biennial, the theme of this year’s Northbridge Art Prize is Resilient Cities. This is an opportunity for artists to connect communities with a range of big issues under the umbrella of resilient cities including:
Environmental change across urban and bush settings Celebrating difference and finding value in originality Intergenerational connection
Connected cities
Recycling and rubbish management
All entries must include elements of recycling or sustainability in materials and/or theme to be eligible.
Grand Prize $4000
Best in Category Sponsor’s Voucher $400
Runner Up in Category Sponsor’s Voucher $150
Derivan Award of Excellence in Acrylics Materials and / or Voucher $300
Grand Prize and Best in each category will be displayed at Chatswood Chase after September 15th 2019
Entries in the following categories 1.2-Dimensional works on canvas
2.2-Dimensional works on paper
3. 3-Dimensional Works
Entry Rules
1. Each entrant may submit up to two 2-Dimensional and/or one 3-Dimensional art works in the competition.
All works must be no more than 125cm x 95cm
2. All entries must include elements of recycling or sustainability, in materials and/ or theme, to be eligible.
"Resilient Cities"
Exploring environment changes, celebrating difference, valuing originality, obtaining balance, connecting communities, managing waste and rubbish, moving forward.
3. Entries must be original work of the entrant and not infringe on any copyright laws. Works must have been done within the last 2 years.
4. GALLERY 307 ART SCHOOL reserves the right to reject any works including those that are wet, dangerous, delicate or offensive.
5. The entry form is to be completed online. An entry fee of $35 (including GST) per artwork will apply, covering hanging and administration costs.
6. Late entries will not be accepted.
7. Entries must be ready for hanging. Frames and Canvas must have suitable cord across the back and D latches. Works not ready for hanging will not be hung.
8. Entries must have the entrants name, address, telephone number, medium, title of work and price printed clearly on the back.
9. Commission of 33.3% will be deducted from the sale, please ensure you have included this in your price.
10. Entrants must organize their own insurance cover against damage, loss or theft. GALLERY 307 ART SCHOOL whilst taking all care shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to any entry.
11. Judges decisions are final.
12. There is no refund of entry fees for any work not selected for display.
13. Selected works will be announced on the Gallery 307 Art School website on Wednesday 21th August at 8pm
14. Winners will also be display at Chatswood Chase Shopping Centre Chatswood when the exhibition closes in Northbridge.
15. Displayed entries to be collected Sunday 15th September 10am – 3pm. Works not collected by this date will attract a collection fee of $5 per day. Works not collected within 1 week will be disposed of at the discretion of Gallery 307.
16. GALLERY 307 ART SCHOOL reserve the right to use images of works exhibited at the Northbridge Art Prize for promotional use.
