Term 4 High School - Portrait Workshops

Learning a non traditional new age illustration technique to create your very own style portrait. Great technique, colour and vibrance.

Whether you are drawing for the very first time or have some experience, you will develop and practice skills and techniques using different media including arcylic and oil paint, watercolour and chalk pastels.
Taught by our very own “Portrait Specialist” Ken Chu.

Spend the first half of the term Skill Building and the second half using those skills you have learnt and creating very own project

Weeks 1-5
• Learn about the anatomical structure of the human face
• Understand the lighting and perspective
• Gained a practical understanding of observation and life drawing skills
• Practiced and developed different drawing and painting techniques

Weeks 5-10
Taking your skills further. Show what you have learnt by creating your own portrait in your own style. Looking at the Archibald and how artists created work for this exhibition.
You will be given a brief to complete and present to the group in non competitive and supportive session. Guidance provided at all stages.
A great way to prepare for major works and assessments at High School.

• Creating your Portrait in your own styles under the guidance of Ken
• Presenting your project
